What is TKD? What do the critics say?

Original Post-Modern, Progressive Rock band fronted by Paul Brown. The band has recently played shows in LA and New York with shows upcoming in Boston, New York and St. Louis.

An amazing band that the “LA Underground Music Exchange-2007” called “The Only Modern American Band to cover every genre well with Paul’s unbelievable voice”,

the St. Louis Riverfront Times-2006 said “RIGHTEOUS RIFFS: Don’t let the band name Paul Brown and the Killing Devils fool you. Join the GUITAR GODS at Rock Island as they celebrate the release of their epic, eighteen-track CD, Red Spider PB&TKD’s STRIPPED-DOWN GROOVE’LL GET YOU ON THE FLOOR” and

as stated by the NYC Village Voice-December 2007 “Paul’s music has been played all over the world. He is a gifted singer, songwriter, and musician with one of the best progressive rock bands on the planet.”

In July 2006 the Killing Devils released the critically acclaimed “Red Spider” CD and the band is presently working on their new CD entitled “The Wizard’s Dawn.”

Kickin ass with a smile. Or for the more sanitized verson-World Class Rock coming to a venue near you.

Greenwich Village, NY -Thanks to our fans

We want to thank all our loyal fans from near and far who braved the frigid temps and weather to come out to hear our show in NYC!!!! A great time was had by all and it was an awesome day. Thanks again for making the show such a success. Henry is an amazing addition to the band and certainly is a crowd favorite!

Faded Lights
In 1980, 18-year old Jamie Elder moved from Carbondale, Illinois to L.A. As her dreams of stardom as a dancer/actress failed, she turned to prostitution and the games of dope and sex to survive.

Change of Names
In 1982, Janie Elder moved to St. Louis, Missouri to escape L.A. Janie changed her name to Ellen Young and swore she would have a family and a “normal” life.

Pretty Toys
Also in 1982, a St. Louis lawyer Victor Russell ended a relationship with a much younger woman. Victor then promised himself he would marry a woman that would change his life and make him feel young again.

Midnight Soul
In 1984, Victor Russell met Ellen Young and fell in love. Both Victor’s and Ellen’s dreams for a better life seemed to have been realized as they settled in St. Louis, married, and had a son named Ivan. For 16 years, their marriage endured both good times and bad times.

Sweet Lady Ellen
In the year 2000, Ellen woke up to the fact that sex in her marriage had become almost non-existent. She sought out a lover and cheated on Victor, whose failing law practice had led him to drink. Victor found Ellen in bed with a man named, Tyler Stewart. Victor shot and killed Tyler and then himself. Ellen was left numb and Ivan felt only resentment towards her.

Clock in My Head
Still in the year 2000, days after his father’s suicide. Ivan sought sanctuary in his bedroom where he jammed on his guitar until his straight-laced neighbors wanted to call the cops. As Ivan played, he went into a dreamlike state. He felt himselft move forward in time but wasn’t sure if his journey was real or not. As he played louder, he became aware his journey was real.

Mystery Lady
Ivan wakes up to find himself in the year in 2015. He has not aged and finds his guitar and amp have survived with him. He is in a totally mechanized world where music is forbidden. The dictator Prokof rules. Ivan flees the forces of Prokof, and starts a music revolution and tries to win the love of Prokof’s daughter, Angellica.

Remnants of Angellica
In the year 2020, Ivan has succeeded with his music revolution. Angellica fell in love with Ivan, but was never able to consummate that love before she died fighting against her father in the revolution. Rock and roll has been freed and the Time Man watches.

Dancing with a Ghost
Still in 2020, Ivan by his faith, his music and his love for Angellica, brings her back to life. “Free to touch the wind and light.” The Time Man smiles.
